  • The Lions’ 2024 win total is set at 10.5 wins at BetMGM.
  • Detroit earned a division title and reached the NFC title game following a 12-win season.
  • The argument for Detroit to clear this number for the second straight year.

For the 2024 NFL season, the Lions win total sits at 10.5 wins at the BetMGM online sportsbook.

Detroit produced a brilliant campaign in 2023. After winning 12 games in the regular season, they reached the NFC title game before falling to the 49ers.

Now, the Lions count themselves among the top choices in the Super Bowl Odds. Defense proved the focus of their offseason, which saw them add DJ Reader and Carlton Davis.

Here’s a look at the NFL betting lines for Detroit’s 2024 win total.

The Lions’ season win total is set at 10.5 games for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, the odds for them to finish with 10 or fewer wins is +110, an implied probability of 47.6%.

Lions 2024 Win Total Prediction

LEAN Lions Over 10.5 Wins (-135)

This is a tricky win total to evaluate, and I can honestly make an argument for both sides. Accordingly, the over is a lean for me.

Let’s begin with the positives.

First, there’s minimal roster turnover for Detroit. The offense returns virtually all starters and the defense made nice additions to a unit that needed improvement.

Plus, their pass defense should naturally improve. Last season, the Lions ranked 25th in pass EPA per play allowed, but they lost the second-most man games to injury at defensive back.

Finally, Detroit plays a majority of games at home this year and all but three games indoors.

Last year, they finished 9-3 SU indoors during the regular season. Including the postseason, they were 8-2 SU at home.

Those three factors alone could prove enough to back the over. However, if you think the Lions clear 10.5 wins, I’d almost rather bet them to win the NFC North at +130.

That said, there are some factors bettors should recognize before they make either bet.

First, Detroit was slightly lucky last season. According to pro-football-reference.com, they finished as a 12-win team but played more like a 10-win team.

Last year, they finished 5-3 in games decided by seven or fewer points.

Additionally, they play a pretty difficult schedule in 2024. A first-place schedule leaves them with the Bills, Cowboys and Buccaneers as unique opponents.

Further, Detroit’s non-divisional games come against the AFC South and NFC West, both of which contain quality opponents.

With the Bears and Packers both facing easier schedules, Detroit could still win the division while staying under this number.

Add in all the bets are hitting the over on Detroit – over 10.5 wins has received 88% of tickets as of June 12 – and it’s just a lean for me at the current price.

Most Wins in Lions History

The Lions franchise record for wins in the regular season is 12. They won 12 games and made it to the NFC Championship Game in both 1990 and 2023.

Fewest Wins in Lions History

The Lions went 0-16 in 2008, becoming the first NFL franchise to do so. They also went 0-11 in 1942 and have won three or fewer games 14 times.

They’re one of 12 NFL teams that never won the Super Bowl.
