Since the Lamar era started in Baltimore, the Ravens have won at least 10 games in five of seven seasons. That’s kept the Ravens’ odds in a respectably high position, including in the Super Bowl odds market.
But once the playoffs start, Baltimore’s performance has been pretty uneven. Lamar & Co. have been to the AFC championship once.
Here’s where you might be thinking, “Oh, well! That’s just life in the AFC with Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes!” And that would be a fair defense … if the Ravens hadn’t also lost to the Bengals, Titans, and Chargers in recent playoff years.
Ravens fans are rightfully frustrated with the lack of postseason results, which probably has something to do with John Harbaugh’s firing at the end of the 2025 season.
Jackson’s future with the franchise has been the subject of speculation. For now, he’s under contract for another two seasons.
Lamar Jackson Contract
Lamar Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract with the Ravens on April 27, 2023. The contract took effect for the 2023 season and runs through 2027.
The deal came after the Ravens used their franchise tag to extend their contractual control of Jackson beyond the deadline for 2023 NFL free agency.
The deal includes several provisions, including a full no-trade clause. Additionally, the Ravens cannot use the franchise tag on him again following the 2027 season.
Lamar Jackson Signing Bonus
Lamar Jackson received a signing bonus of $72.5 million in 2023.
Lamar Jackson Salary
Lamar Jackson will earn $52 million from his contract with the Ravens in 2026.
The vast majority of that ($49.95 million) is restructured salary that has been converted into signing bonus cash.
Functionally, this means Lamar Jackson gets a lump sum payment instead of having to wait for his game checks. Meanwhile, the front office clears $39.96 million in cap room for roster building.
After the restructure, Jackson’s base compensation is $1.3 million – the NFL veteran minimum salary for a player of his experience level. He also collects a $750,000 workout bonus for some pocket change.
Over the life of his five-year contract, Jackson’s average annual salary is $52 million.
Lamar Jackson Guaranteed Money
Lamar Jackson’s contract included $135 million in guaranteed money when he signed it.
Jackson’s contract includes an additional $50 million in guarantees, the last of which vested at the beginning of the 2025 league season.
