A surprise start from Shane Steichen’s team has the Colts sitting atop the AFC following Week 10. In the NFC, the Eagles (7-2) took over the top spot after Green Bay’s loss to Carolina in Week 9.
Philadelphia retained that spot with a 10-7 win over the Packers on MNF, with Green Bay falling to seventh.
As it stands, a lot more intrigue comes in the NFC. Nine teams own records at or above .500 compared to eight teams in the AFC.

When Do the NFL Playoffs Start?
The NFL playoffs begin on Saturday, January 10, with the wild-card round. Three weeks of playoff action follow before Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, February 8.
How Many Teams Make the NFL Playoffs?
Of the 32 teams in the NFL, 14 make the postseason.
Eight of those 14 spots go to the division winners in both conferences. The remaining spots go to the three teams in each conference with the best remaining records.
