Cowboys vs Packers Prediction

Based on the Cowboys’ outstanding offense and the sell-high opportunity on Green Bay, my Packers vs Cowboys prediction is the Cowboys Over 27.5 Points.

I’m going to monitor this market throughout the week. Early weather forecasts call for gusty winds in Green Bay on Sunday, which could mitigate points.

For Green Bay’s defense, this matchup easily qualifies as the toughest test for the secondary. Excluding Week 5, the unit ranks 17th in pass defense DVOA.

Jonathan Gannon’s defense recorded volatile results, though. The defense performed well against Minnesota, Chicago and Tampa Bay, but I’d hardly call that an accomplishment.

Of course, gusty conditions could mitigate the Cowboys’ aerial attack. Excluding Week 5, the offense ranked eighth in pass offense DVOA and scored 40 against Green Bay last year.

That being said, I carry equal confidence in a slowly improving Cowboys rushing attack.

In Weeks 1-2, Dallas posted a -0.174 rush EPA per play and a 40% rushing success rate. From Week 3 onward, Brian Schottenheimer’s offense boosted those stats to +0.038 and 45.5%.

For the season, Dallas still owns a massive advantage over Green Bay’s rushing defense. The Cowboys rank 16th in rush offense DVOA facing a defense ranked 31st in rush defense DVOA.

Plus, the Cowboys’ 16 points against Tampa Bay are a bit misleading. Three turnovers doomed Dallas against a superior defense, with two coming inside the Bucs’ 25-yard line.

Simultaneously, Green Bay held Chicago to seven points via five turnovers. The unit also goes from facing Tyson Bagent to Dak Prescott.

The jump in competition, paired with the buy-low & sell-high opportunity, leads me to predict Dallas clears a high number.
