Commanders vs. Seahawks: NFL Week 9 Odds, Prediction

See the latest NFL Week 9 odds, picks and predictions for Commanders vs. Seahawks on November 2 at Northwest Stadium.
  • The Commanders are a 3-point home underdog against the Seahawks.
  • The Seahawks have won each of their last 10 Sunday road games.
  • My Commanders vs Seahawks prediction is the Seahawks Spread (-3, -110).

To close out the Week 9 Sunday slate, the Seahawks travel off the bye to face the Commanders.ย

Last bettors saw Seattle, Mike Macdonaldโ€™s team covered the spread in a 27-19 home win over the Houston Texans. As it stands, Seattle is tied with the Rams for the NFC West lead.ย

Washington plays a second straight primetime game after Chiefs vs Commanders on MNF. Barring a win as 11-point dogs, the Commanders will enter Sunday on a three-game skid.ย

Commanders vs. Seahawks Prediction

Based on Seattleโ€™s strong defensive record and Jayden Danielsโ€™ unknown status for Sundayโ€™s game, my Commanders vs Seahawks prediction is the Seahawks Spread (-3, -110).ย

Here, I want to wait until later in the week before making a final prediction. Without Daniels, Iโ€™m not sure how you get to the window on the Commanders as home dogs.ย

Seattle also enters this game off a bye week, while Washington plays off a road MNF game. Thatโ€™s a less-than-ideal spot for Dan Quinnโ€™s unit as home pups.ย

That said, Seattle enters this game in a potential sell-high spot. Although they beat Houston 27-19, it came while turning the ball over four times.ย

Seattleโ€™s defense also kept Houston out from their own one-yard line. All of that is to say that game could have played out much differently than the final score.ย

But the best unit on the field in this game remains Seattleโ€™s defense. As of this writing, Macdonaldโ€™s unit ranks third in defensive DVOA, per ftnfantasy.com.ย

A true reading of Washingtonโ€™s offense is difficult to predict, given the injury issues. In good news, they activated both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel for Monday.ย

What Iโ€™m attempting to balance, though, is that Washingtonโ€™s success this season has come against bad run defenses.ย

Two of three wins this year have come against teams 27th or worse in rush defense DVOA. Seattle, entering Week 9, leads the league in that category.ย

Based on those factors, itโ€™s the Seahawks or nothing for me on Sunday. That said, Iโ€™ll wait for Danielsโ€™ status before making a decision.ย
