NFL Week 9 Expert Picks 2026

Seahawks vs Cardinals Prediction: Seahawks Spread (-11, -110)

Based on the change in difficulty for the Cardinals offense and weak record against Seattle since last year, my Seahawks vs Cardinals prediction is the Seahawks Spread (-11, -110).

Seattle Seahawks (-11) @ -110 Arizona Cardinals (+11) @ -108

Bettors saw a somewhat similar spot for Arizona last season. The Cardinals beat Dallas as road underdogs only to travel to Seattle and lose by 22 points.

Arizona gets an extra day to prepare for this game, whereas they played Dallas on MNF last year. Still, I don’t expect it’s enough to overcome an elite Seattle defense.

Excluding Week 8, Seattle paces the NFL in defensive DVOA. Only turnovers from Sam Darnold allowed opponents to keep games within striking distance.

Earlier this season, Seattle traveled to Arizona and dominated the game. Drew Lock led a 31-7 victory over the Cardinals, who needed a come-from-behind effort to beat Dallas on Sunday.

Arizona turned around a 24-13 deficit into a 33-30 overtime win. It’s unlikely the Cardinals produce the same offensive ceiling facing an opponent 30 spots better in defensive DVOA.

This line could move further depending on Seattle’s MNF result and a potential Jonathan Taylor trade. With the spread sitting under -14, I predict the Seahawks cover a big number.

Vikings vs Bills Prediction: Buffalo Bills Spread (-3, -105)

Based on Buffalo’s ability to run the ball and the Vikings’ inconsistent run-stopping metrics on defense, my Vikings vs Bills prediction is the Buffalo Bills Spread (-3, -105).

Buffalo Bills (-3) @ -108 Minnesota Vikings (+3) @ -110

I’m going to continue to hammer the drum that Minnesota’s defense is overmatched in this game. It’s also my philosophy that when two good teams play, fade the weakest unit.

Buffalo’s defense remains a potential liability and is nowhere near as good as Sunday’s performance against Baltimore’s third-string quarterback.

But the case for optimism is that Buffalo’s poor performances this season have come against good offenses. Meanwhile, the Vikings defense has largely achieved its rating against bad units.

Still, previous games showed offenses can run the ball on Minnesota. Chicago, Miami, Indianapolis and Detroit all ran the ball effectively to nullify Brian Flores’ blitzing tendencies.

Now Flores is charged with limiting an explosive Bills rushing attack. Excluding Week 8 against Baltimore, the Bills offense leads the NFL in rush offense DVOA (16.1%).

It qualifies as the hardest opponent for Minnesota’s defense all season by rush offense DVOA. On Sunday, the unit faced a 14th-ranked Lions rushing attack that notched 230 rushing yards.

Minnesota’s defense, in its last two games, allowed 4.7 and 5.9 yards per attempt. Even Miami reached 6.7 yards per rush against the Vikings!

Both teams are lucky to have as many wins as they do. But I trust the Bills offense more in the perceived strength-on-strength matchup.
