Eagles vs Jaguars Prediction

Based entirely on Philadelphia’s mounting offensive injuries and how teams have attacked Jacksonville, my Jaguars vs Eagles prediction is the Eagles Under 16.5 Points (-102).

The Jaguars defense has so much regression looming. I’m not sure if it will ever arrive based on the schedule construction.

Jacksonville has survived recently on pure turnover luck and opponent red zone inefficiency. Over the last three games, the Jaguars rank 18th in defensive success rate excluding turnovers.

The Bengals, Patriots and Broncos combined to average four red zone chances. None finished with under three red zone opportunities.

Most of that inefficiency has come through the air. Jacksonville’s defense ranks 21st in dropback success rate vs seventh in rush defense success rate.

A case can be made that the Jaguars have yet to face a decent rushing attack.

The problem here is that Saquon Barkley presumably misses the game after sustaining an injury vs the Rams.

Do you trust Jalen Hurts and an island of misfit toys to score against Jacksonville’s horrible pass defense? As currently constructed, I’d argue the answer is a resounding no.

Barkley avoiding time on the sidelines could change my opinion about this game. On paper, the Eagles go from facing a well-constructed defense to one that is wildly overperforming.

But with Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and potentially Lane Johnson sidelined, I worry about the Eagles offensive ceiling in London.

Wait for confirmation on who is playing against Jacksonville. If the Eagles receive some positive news, I’m willing to entertain Philadelphia as underdogs north of key numbers.

But with the market moving from Jaguars -3.5 on Sunday night to Jaguars -5.5 on Monday morning, it looks like a signal Philly will miss some players.
