Malik Willis Contract: Salary, Guaranteed Money With Dolphins

Former Packers backup quarterback Malik Willis took the reins of the offense for two short weeks at the end of the 2025 season. He played much better than many fans and analysts expected, forcing an overtime period against the Bears in Week 16. 

A week later, he threw for 288 yards and scored three touchdowns (two rushing) against Baltimore. 

The Packers lost both games, but Willis acquitted himself well, with media personalities half-joking that he might have set himself up for a big payday in the coming free agency period. 

Enter the desperate Dolphins, who needed a quarterback to be the face of their coming rebuild. Willis was in the right place at the right time, and now he’s a very rich man.

The Dolphins’ odds are at the very bottom of the AFC table, and Miami will most likely field one of the least-talented teams in the NFL. But hey – that’s what the money’s for, right?

Malik Willis Contract

In March 2026, Malik Willis signed a three-year free-agent contract with the Dolphins worth $67.5 million. That included a signing bonus of $22.25 million. 

Malik Willis Guaranteed Money

Malik Willis’ contract guarantees $45 million in compensation – his signing bonus, 2026 salary, and 2027 salary. 

Functionally, this is more of a two-year deal, and Willis can easily be cut after the 2027 season.

In 2026, Malik Willis will earn $23.5 million from his NFL contract. Nearly all of that is signing bonus money, with the remainder coming from his veteran minimum NFL salary. 

Malik Willis Cap Hit

Malik Willis’ cap hit is a small $5.67 million in 2026. That figure jumps to about $26 million in 2027 and – if he’s still on the roster – about $27 million in 2028.
