Below, bettors can find a list of players predicted to score a touchdown in Super Bowl 60 based on their NFL odds. 

Two Seahawks are -110 or higher to find the end zone against New England. Those players are Kenneth Walker III (-190) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (-115).

Walker has scored a touchdown in two straight and three of his previous five games. Smith-Njigba, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year favorite, has achieved the same feat with a touchdown in two straight.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (-111) to Score a Touchdown in the Super Bowl

Part of me hates that Smith-Njigba leads all players in bets percentage to score a touchdown based on NFL public betting. 

That said, I rate the Patriots pass defense as the worst unit on the field. Additionally, they’re relatively inexperienced in facing top wide receivers. 

New England ranks 15th in non-adjusted pass DVOA. AFTER accounting for opponent adjustments, the Patriots drop to 25th in the league. 

The Patriots run man coverage at one of the highest rates in the league. Per PFF, Smith-Njigba leads the NFL in receiving grade against man coverage. 

Five NFL receivers, including Smith-Njigba, notched at least 28 receptions against man this year. New England faced only one of those five. 

Zay Flowers torched New England for seven receptions and 84 yards. Although he failed to receive a touchdown, he ran one in from 18 yards out. 

Additionally, New England has surrendered a pair of passing touchdowns in three postseason games. Across all 20 games, New England allowed 1.35 passing touchdowns per game. 

The unit also ranks 31st against WR1s by DVOA. Courtland Sutton, DK Metcalf and Drake London (3) all found the end zone against the Patriots. 

Given those factors, I predict Smith-Njigba finds the end zone for a third straight game. 

What Does Anytime Touchdown Scorer Mean for QB? 

For a quarterback to hit his anytime touchdown prop, he must physically enter the endzone. Passing touchdowns do not count toward a QB’s anytime touchdown prop.

As an example, the Eagles executing the tush push on Jalen Hurts successfully would cash Hurts’ anytime touchdown prop bet.

Another example includes Jared Goff catching a pass from Amon-Ra St. Brown for a touchdown, which cashed Goff’s prop.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer Meaning

For a player to cash his anytime touchdown bet, they must physically enter the end zone with possession of the ball. 

This can be accomplished via multiple different scenarios. The most obvious is a rushing touchdown or receiving touchdown by a skill player. 

This can also be accomplished by a quarterback who runs the ball in or catches a pass, a la Nick Foles in Super Bowl 52. 

Bettors can also wager on team defenses and special teams to score a touchdown. Be it an interception return, fumble recovery or kick return, this is how bettors would cash that market. 

In that instance, bettors don’t play specific defensive players or kick returners. The event is unlikely enough that sportsbooks offer the entire defense as a unit. 

What is a First Touchdown Scorer Bet?

The mechanics for a first touchdown scorer bet work the exact same as an anytime touchdown scorer market.

However, a main difference exists between the two markets. For an anytime touchdown scorer bet, the bet wins if a player scores at any point in the game.

With a first touchdown scorer bet, players win only if the selected player scores the first touchdown of the game. Accordingly, bettors receive more favorable pricing for a first touchdown scorer bet.

Another market exists as a subset of the first touchdown scorer: players to score his team’s first touchdown.

In a first touchdown scorer market, all players for both teams are available. To win, bettors must pick the player to score the first touchdown out of a larger pool.

By separating the players into their respective teams, bettors can pick a player to score the first touchdown for his team only.
