The Los Angeles Rams arrive at free agency with decent spending power.
Los Angeles, which fell in the NFC Championship last year, owns $40.2 million in projected cap space. By effective cap space, Los Angeles’ figure falls to $32.8 million.
The Rams can bolster that figure with $53.1 million in simple contract restructures. Of that total, around $23 million could come by restructuring Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams’ deals.
Rams Free Agents 2026: Two Key Defenders Hit Market
For the most part, the NFL’s leading offense by DVOA last season remains intact. Right tackle Rob Havenstein retired, but tight end Tyler Higbee qualifies as the lone “impact” free agent.
Tutu Atwell, who featured in only 16.5% snaps on a $10 million APY last year, looks unlikely to return to Los Angeles.
Backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (35) also enters free agency this season.
A different story comes on defense. Safety Kam Curl hits free agency this year, along with cornerback Kobie Durant.
Last season, Kurl finished as the Rams’ highest-graded run defender, per PFF. Only five Rams defenders outpaced Kurl in total PFF grade last season.
Two years ago, Kurl and Durant finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in total PFF defensive grades for the Rams.
