A loss to the Browns resigned the Titans to a 1-6 start after an unlikely win over Indianapolis.

As the rebuild around former first overall pick Cam Ward continues, the Titans could try to stockpile more picks. Ahead of the trade deadline, RB Tony Pollard has garnered trade interest.

Pollard becomes a free agent at the conclusion of this season. Since joining the Titans in 2024, he has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons.

Which teams could elect to move for Pollard ahead of the deadline? Here are two potential partners for the 29-year-old back.

NFL Trade Deadline: Best Trade Partners for Tony Pollard

New York Giants

New York placed Tyrone Tracy Jr. on injured reserve, leaving an injury-prone Cam Skattebo at running back.

Skattebo left New York’s Week 7 win over the Texans with an injury. If he misses time, the Giants will rely on Devin Singletary behind a strong run-blocking unit.

New York ranks 16th in ESPN’s run-block win rate metric. Against Houston, the Giants recorded their best rush offense DVOA grade of the season (56%).

It ended a five-game streak south of -18%. In Week 1, the Giants posted a 12% rush offense DVOA grade against Dallas.

Pollard could provide a short-term boost to the running back room as the Giants chase a division title.

Detroit Lions

Isiah Pacheco remains on injured reserve as the deadline approaches. Right now, the Lions’ running back room features Jahmyr Gibbs, Sione Vaki and Jacob Saylors.

Detroit signaled its intent to add help for Gibbs, the NFL Offensive Player of the Year leader, by signing Pacheco. If the former Chief remains sidelined, it could force a move for another back.

Pollard could help reduce Gibbs’ touches as the Lions chase a deep postseason run behind an easy schedule. He’d join a room featuring strength in terms of rush DVOA.

Gibbs serves as the primary back on a team that ranks 14th in rush offense DVOA through six games.

However, the team showed signs of life before a -47.4% performance against Green Bay.

In the five prior contests, the Lions recorded an 18% rush DVOA percentage or higher three times. Adding Pollard could help reduce the volatility and increase the rush prowess.
