Mike Vrabel could join an exclusive group of individuals to win a Super Bowl as both a player and head coach.

NFL Coaches With a Super Bowl Win as Players

Vrabel accumulated three Super Bowl victories as a Patriots linebacker. His wins as a player came in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

The former achievement came at longshot odds. According to sportsoddshistory.com, New England began the season priced at +6000 to win the Super Bowl in ‘01.

Now, Vrabel helms a similar underdog story ahead of Super Bowl 60. New England, which won four games last year, closed at +12500 to win the Super Bowl before the regular season.

Based on current NFL odds, Vrabel’s Patriots are  to win Super Bowl LX.

With a win, Vrabel would join Tom Flores, Mike Ditka and Tony Dungy as the only coaches with a win as both a player and coach.

Flores won Super Bowl IV as a player and Super Bowls XV and XVIII as a coach. Ditka won Super Bowl VI as a player and Super Bowl XX as a head coach.

Dungy achieved the feat most recently. After a win in Super Bowl XIII as a player, he won Super Bowl XLI as a head coach.
