NFL Week 8 Expert Picks 2026

Bills vs Ravens Prediction: Baltimore Ravens Moneyline (+155)

If NFL games concluded after two quarters, we’d talk about the Ravens as a total juggernaut annually. Here’s the problem: games finish after four quarters.

Buffalo Bills @ -190 Baltimore Ravens @ +155

Baltimore led Cincinnati 13-0 at halftime as Snoop Huntley guided a good offensive showing. Meanwhile, the Ravens defense completely shut down a strong passing game.

All that changed in the second half. Cincinnati scored 35 unanswered as Joe Burrow tossed four touchdown passes. In all three Ravens losses this year, the team blew a double-digit lead.

Now the team heads to mighty Buffalo, a team that can best be described as more lucky than good. Buffalo’s five wins have come by a combined 29 points.

It drops to four wins by 19 total points if you exclude Week 2 against Detroit. In that contest, Buffalo played a team on a short week coming off an overtime game.

History suggests Baltimore owns a decent chance to win.

Since the 2006 season, road dogs facing an opponent with an average margin of victory between 1.6 and 6 with a 72% or better win percentage are 53-66-1 SU.

Baltimore infamously scored 40 in a loss last year at Highmark Stadium. Even if Huntley starts, he has shown he can execute a game plan against bad defenses (see: Week 5 in Atlanta).

The Ravens offense still ranks 10th in offensive DVOA after Week 7. It should offer a chance to exploit a Bills defense ranked 28th in DVOA, per FTN Fantasy.

As of Monday morning, only 14% of moneyline bets are supporting the Ravens. Albeit against a team off a bye week, I predict the Ravens see some positive regression in Buffalo.

Seahawks vs Bears Prediction: Seahawks Spread (-3, -120)

In my estimation, the Seahawks’ 20-3 beatdown of the Chiefs on SNF flattered Kansas City in terms of margin.

Seattle Seahawks (-3) @ -120 Chicago Bears (+3) @ +100

Red zone chances finished 3-0 in Seattle’s direction. Brian Fleury’s offense failed to convert any of those three chances into a touchdown, including one Sam Darnold interception.

Now he gets an easier test in Dennis Allen’s Bears defense. Thematic about the Bears defense this year is total volatility and an inability to take the defensive quality away from home.

Chicago ranks 19th in defensive DVOA compared to 29th in variance (32 = the most variant defense).

Most of Chicago’s defensive success came at home against the Eagles, Jets and Vikings. Away from home, we’ve seen the unit deliver bad performances against Carolina and Green Bay.

Chicago’s worst defensive DVOA rating of the season came at Green Bay. Sample the entire season thus far and bettors will find Seattle rates slightly better in DVOA (22nd vs 24th).

Meanwhile, the Bears offensive metrics are largely driven by a Week 1 showing in Carolina. Currently, Chicago sits at a 4.9% DVOA rating with a 55% rating from the Panthers game.

Ben Johnson gets a Seahawks defense that still paces the NFL in defensive DVOA, including third in rush DVOA. If Caleb Williams is forced to play from behind, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Those factors lead me to predict Seattle covers the spread for the second straight game at home.
