Based on Washington’s misleading points output against the Giants and San Francisco’s strong defense, my 49ers vs Commanders prediction is the Commanders Under 20.5 Points (-108). 

Purely from a points-allowed standpoint, San Francisco’s performance in Seattle looks atrocious. The Seahawks scored 29 points against a unit that looked suspect at times.

But how Seattle reached that point total deserves scrutiny. In a game that featured seven combined turnovers, both teams scored points at will with consistently short fields.

Let’s focus entirely on the Niners defense here. Over 15 Seattle possessions, the Niners defense allowed only one to go for 50+ yards.

Seattle constructed two touchdown drives in the game. Their first touchdown came on a 24-yard drive after a muffed punt, while a 23-yard drive followed a Brock Purdy interception.

In fact, Seattle produced only one scoring drive that amassed over 50 yards start to finish. For the game, Brian Fleury’s offense managed only 4.2 yards per play.

Now the Niners get a Washington defense in a sell-high spot after scoring 27 vs. the Giants. However, like the Niners’ defensive performance, it’s very misleading.

Washington managed only one red zone trip against a terrible Giants defense. Jayden Daniels led all Commanders with 103 rushing yards, scoring two touchdowns on nine attempts.

San Francisco should naturally counter Daniels’ rushing tendencies via linebacker Fred Warner. If Daniels rushing prowess dries up, I question how the Commanders offense scores points.

Even though Washington has cleared this line in both Daniels starts, I predict the unit experiences some regression and stays under a high figure.
