Super Bowl Predictions: 49ers & Packers Two Early Bets

Below, NFL bettors can find my early Super Bowl predictions based on Super Bowl odds from BetMGM.

Following their win in Super Bowl 59, the Philadelphia Eagles (+650) are favored to win Super Bowl 60. Four other teams — Baltimore, Buffalo, Kansas City and Detroit — are +800 or shorter to win Super Bowl.

A sizable dropoff occurs from there with the Bengals and 49ers priced at +1600 to win this year’s Big Game. The Commanders (+1800) are the final team listed at +2000 or shorter to win the NFL championship.

Prediction: Who Will Win Super Bowl 60? 

Green Bay Packers (+2500) to Win Super Bowl 60

Based on the Packers’ expected positive regression and favorable salary cap situation, I predict the Packers Win Super Bowl 60 (+2000). 

Green Bay’s underlying metrics from 2024-25 should not be ignored. It paints a picture of a squad that simply played in the hardest division….and finished as an unlucky team. 

The Packers ranked third in total DVOA against the seventh-hardest schedule in the league, per ftnfantasy.com. 

Green Bay finished the season with 11 wins, good for the fifth-best record in the NFC. However, their estimated wins finished at 12.7, the second-best mark in the NFC. 

Both Detroit and Minnesota rate out as negative regression candidates next season, offering viability for the Packers to win the division. 

Detroit finished 7-2 in games decided by a touchdown or less, while Minnesota finished 8-1 in such contests. Green Bay played 10 of those games and earned five wins. 

But a lot of Green Bay’s bad luck came within the division. They earned only a single division win, with four of five losses in the division coming by three or fewer points. 

General manager Brian Gutekunst has room to work as well with $42.1 million in cap space. Quarterback Jordan Love also counts only 10% against the cap next season. 

That should help bolster a team playing a third-place schedule next season. As a result, Green Bay is my first bet to win Super Bowl 60 in San Francisco. 

San Francisco 49ers (+1600) to Win Super Bowl 60

Based on the 49ers’ injury issues in 2024 and their expected positive regression in 2025, I predict the San Francisco 49ers (+1300) are worth a bet to win Super Bowl 60. 

San Francisco endured the season from hell, missing out on the playoffs entirely. 

But my takeaway from their season is that San Francisco did none of their campaign to themselves. It was purely due to myriad injuries to a lot of key players. 

Despite that fact, San Francisco (6-11) finished three wins under expected (9-8), thanks to a 2-6 record in games decided by seven or fewer points, per ftnfantasy.com. 

Oh…and did I mention they played the league’s second-hardest schedule? As last-place finishers in the West, the schedule is surely advantageous for Kyle Shanahan. 

Next season, they’ll return all of Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams to an offense that features Brock Purdy in the final season of his rookie deal. 

Defensively, San Francisco made a sneaky good addition by returning Robert Saleh as their defensive coordinator. 

Say what you will about Saleh as a head coach, but were the Jets’ problems because of their defense? Of course not – it was because of Aaron Rodgers and a bad offense. 

Much like Green Bay, general manager John Lynch has salary cap room with which to work. Per overthecap.com, San Francisco enters this offseason with $48.2 million in leeway. 

As a result, the 49ers are my second bet to win Super Bowl 60 at their home stadium in 2026.
