History of F1 Races in Las Vegas

When the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix is held in November, it will be the first F1 race in Las Vegas in more than 40 years.

Has F1 Ever Raced in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas has hosted two F1 races all-time, one in 1981 and one in 1982. They are two of only 12 all-time F1 races in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, none of which has come since 1991 (United States Grand Prix in Phoenix.

The United States has been a regular F1 stop for most of the circuit’s 84-year existence, though the majority of U.S. races have come in the Eastern and Central time zones:

Austin, Texas: United States Grand Prix (2012-19, 2021-22)

Indianapolis, Ind.: Indianapolis 500 (1950-60), United States Grand Prix (2000-07)

Dallas, Texas: Dallas Grand Prix (1984)

Detroit, Mich.:ย Detroit Grand Prix (1982-88)

Las Vegas: Caesars Palace Grand Prix (1981-82), Las Vegas Grand Prix (2023)

Long Beach, Calif.: United States Grand Prix West (1976-83)

Miami, Fla.: Miami Grand Prix (2022)

Phoenix, Ariz.: United States Grand Prix (1989-91)

Riverside, Calif.: United States Grand Prix (1960)

Sebring, Fla.:ย United States Grand Prix (1959)

Watkins Glen, N.Y.: United States Grand Prix (1961-80)
