Jamie Foxx has conquered the comedy, film and music worlds, and now he’s taken over the sportsbook world with BetMGM as a celebrity brand ambassador.
Foxx has been with the online sportsbook since Sept. of 2020 and is most known for his work on The King of Sportsbooks campaign, which has been highly visible across the country.
While Foxx is most recognized for his work in Hollywood, born and raised in Texas, he grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan, played high school quarterback, and had childhood dreams of one day playing for America’s Team.
Foxx has been part of a number of different BetMGM promotions, including commercials and social media for The King of Sportsbooks campaign.
Since Foxx joined the BetMGM family, the company has grown exponentially, including when it comes to online sports betting.
Given his well-rounded career, he may be BetMGM’s most widely known celebrity brand ambassador.
Jamie Foxx Awards & Career Highlights
The 54-year-old is an actor, singer and comedian, but most known for his work in Ray, a 2004 biological film on the story and life of legendary rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles.
His work in that film make up a number of his top career awards.
- In 2005, Foxx won an Oscar for Best Actor in Ray. He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor that year for his work in Collateral.
- On top of winning an Oscar for his contributions in Ray, Foxx earned Best Film Actor in a Leading Role at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards, a Golden Globe as Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
- Foxx was also nominated for eight Grammys, eventually winning in 2010 for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. This was for “Blame It” with T-Pain.
On top of appearing in dozens of movies and television shows, Foxx also produced three stand-up comedy specials and starred in his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show from 1996-2001.
He has stayed involved in the movie and television industry into his 50s and most recently released a memoir, Act Like You Got Some Sense: And Other Things My Daughters Taught Me, which is focused on his family life, both as a child and adult.
