Clippers vs. Mavericks Prediction, Odds, Pick: NBA Playoffs, Game 5

The best series in the opening round of the NBA playoffs continues in Los Angeles on Wednesday when the Clippers host the Dallas Mavericks for Game 5.

The Clippers evened the series on Sunday with a 116-111 road win. Both of their wins in this series have come without Kawhi Leonard, who was ruled out in Game 4 after appearing in the previous two games.

Dallas is now a 2.5-point favorite for Wednesday’s battle and a -185 favorite to win the series.

In what should be a series-defining game, I’m betting on the Mavericks to take care of business on Wednesday.

Dallas has struggled out of the gate in its two losses to Los Angeles, which could partly be due to Leonard being ruled out just before tipoff.

The Mavericks made second-half surges in both losses, illustrating the firepower level of their team. Kyrie Irving led the charge in Game 4, scoring 26 points while going on an incredible heater in the third quarter.

The Mavs’ comeback bid ultimately fell short, but they should ride that momentum to defeat a Leonard-less Clippers squad on Wednesday.
