Grover Stewart Contract: Salary, Cap Hit & Potential Extension

Drafted No. 144 overall in 2017, Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Grover Stewart has become essential to the team’s interior defense.

Grover Stewart Salary

The Colts’ defensive tackle is entering the final year of his second contract. Out of Albany State, Stewart signed his rookie deal with the Colts and later re-upped with the club. Stewart signed a three-year, $30,750,000 contract with the Indianapolis Colts, including a $5,000,000 signing bonus, $19,247,176 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $10,250,000.

He was not eligible for a fifth-year option.

Grover Stewart Cap Hit

The 29-year-old carried a $10,625,000 cap hit in 2022. Stewart’s final contract year will see him with a $10,875,000 cap hit in 2023.

Grover Stewart Potential Extension

Regarding his overall snap count and production, Grover Stewart is coming off the best season of his career in 2022 with the Colts. He tallied four sacks and 69 tackles, both of which were career highs. He’s continued to improve every season in the NFL, which bodes well for him heading into a contract year in 2023.

With free agency approaching for Stewart again in 2024, multiple comparable players warrant looking at. Grady Jarrett, Dalvin Tomlinson, Foley Fatukasi, and D.J. Jones all share similar numbers to Stewart at this point in their careers.
