Eric Bieniemy played college football at the University of Colorado from 1987-1990. He was a running back.

Actually, labeling Bieniemy as merely “a running back” is a bit inaccurate. He was an awesome running back that helped Colorado to its all-time program peak back when it dominated college football odds in the late 80s.

Bieniemy finished his four-year career at Colorado with 3,940 rushing yards (5.6 career ypc) and 41 touchdowns.

In 1990, he was the chief offensive engine for Colorado in a year when the Buffalo won the national championship. Bieniemy was named Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Bieniemy was drafted by the Chargers in the second round of the 1991 draft and played nine seasons in the NFL. He first became a coach in 2001. He joined the Kansas City Chiefs’ staff as offensive coordinator in 2018, and he recently moved on to become the offensive coordinator/assistant head coach in Washington.
