  • Max Verstappen, the defending world champion, leads the ticket count in Imola.
  • Four drivers account for 65.4% of the total bets.

Below are Formula 1 public betting insights for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix based on F1 betting odds.

The grand prix, seventh on the calendar for the 2024 season, is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, at 9 a.m. ET.

Given the indexed drivers list in the outright market, public support is defined as drivers who received a plurality of the tickets.

Bettors can identify sharp support when a driver receives more money compared to their ticket count.

With that established, let’s jump into this week’s data for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Formula 1 Public Betting Report – Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

As of Friday afternoon, defending world champion Max Verstappen leads the outright winner market with 19.2% of all tickets.

Verstappen, who won 17 races last year on his way to a third world title, opened at -400 to win the race. Currently, he sits at -275 at BetMGM.

In Miami, six drivers received a bet percentage share of 7% or higher. In Imola, that number is down to four, including Verstappen.

Here are the other three most popular drivers:

  • Charles Leclerc (+600): 18.1% of tickets
  • Carlos Sainz Jr. (+1200): 15% of tickets
  • Lando Norris (+700): 13.1% of tickets

F1 Sharp Betting Odds Report – Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

On the heels of his second grand prix defeat in 2024, Verstappen is attracting loads of money at Imola, where he’s won two straight grand prix’s.

Verstappen has only a 1.1% gap to Leclerc in terms of tickets, but the defending world champion has garnered 73.9% of the total handle.

That qualifies him as the only driver to attract more than 7.5% of the total handle this week.

The next closest driver in terms of handle percentage is Carlos Sainz Jr. (+1200), who currently sits on 7.1% of the handle.

Sainz is one of only two drivers to deny Verstappen a race win this season when he won in Australia.
