  • Max Verstappen, the defending world champion, leads the ticket count in China.
  • Four drivers have received more than 10% of tickets.
  • Get the latest odds and insights on seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton.

Below are Formula 1 public betting insights for the Chinese Grand Prix based on F1 betting odds.

The grand prix, fifth on the calendar for the 2024 season, is scheduled for Sunday, April 22, at 3 a.m. ET.

Given the indexed drivers list in the outright market, public support is defined as drivers who received a plurality of the tickets.

Bettors can identify sharp support when a driver receives more money compared to their ticket count.

With that established, let’s jump into this week’s data for the Chinese Grand Prix.

As of Friday afternoon, defending world champion Max Verstappen leads the outright winner market with 20.1% of all tickets.

Verstappen, who won 17 races last year on his way to a third world title, opened at -500 to win the race. Currently, he sits at -400 at BetMGM.

Two races ago, seven drivers received more than 3% of tickets in the outright market. In China, five drivers have received north of 7%

  • Charles Leclerc (+1400 at open, +1200 currently): 12.3% of tickets

F1 Sharp Betting Odds Report – Chinese Grand Prix

Although four drivers have received north of 13% of tickets, virtually all the money is hitting one driver: Max Verstappen.

As of Friday afternoon, Verstappen has accounted for 58.6% of the total handle, suggesting big bettors aren’t shying away from his lofty odds.

Only two other drivers – Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc – have received more than 10% of the total handle at BetMGM.

Sainz has underperformed his bets percentage but has still accounted for 13% of the total handle. As for Leclerc, he’s sitting on 10.8% of the total handle.

One other driver – Sergio Perez – has accounted for more than 4% of the total handle. Currently, Perez is sitting on 8.2% of all dollars.
