  • The total prize purse for the 2025 French Open is roughly $64 million.
  • The men's and women's champions will each receive $2.9 million.

Clay season is one of the hottest sections of the tennis calendar. It centers around beautiful European courts in the springtime, generally running from the beginning of April into the opening days of June.

The end of the clay season is marked by one of the four major grand slam tennis tournaments of the year: the French Open.ย

In recent years, clay legend Rafael Nadal has dominated the French Open, winning 14 titles since 2005. However, Nadal retired in 2024, opening the door to greater parity on the menโ€™s side.

While fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is the rightful favorite in BetMGMโ€™s tennis odds market, No. 1 tour player Jannik Sinner is a dangerous challenger, as are other successful clay players like Casper Ruud.ย

In the WTA draw, Polish phenom Iga Swiatek has won four of the last five singles tournaments at Roland Garros. But Swiatek has been in poor form in recent months, leading to what is likely the most wide-open French Open singles draw in years.ย

The total amount of prize money available at the 2025 French Open โ€“ from champions down to qualifying losers โ€“ is a whopping โ‚ฌ56,352,000. Thatโ€™s about $64 million in US currency.ย
