Bronny James will begin his pro basketball career with the Los Angeles Lakers after inking a multi-year guaranteed deal following the 2024 NBA Draft.

Bronny James Contract

James, the 55th overall pick, signed a four-year, $7.9 million contract with the Lakers in early July.

The Lakers will have a team option ahead of James’ fourth season in 2027-28.

For context, it is the same length in years that three different second-round selections (all in the 50s) signed for last summer. Chris Livingston, who has the same agent as Bronny (Rich Paul), signed a four-year, $7.6 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks after being the last pick in the 2023 draft.

Bronny James Salary

James’ salary doesn’t apply to the Lakers’ cap until July 31, but he projects to be the lowest cap hit on the Lakers:

  • 2024-25: $1,157,143
  • 2025-26: $1,955,377
  • 2026-27: $2,296,271
  • 2027-28: $2,486,995 (team option)
