  • BetMGM has early 2025 March Madness odds to win the national championship.
  • UConn and Kansas are +900 co-favorites to win this season's championship.
  • UConn has won back-to-back titles.

The 2024-25 college basketball season is officially underway. As many bettors can tell you, the college basketball odds table never went anywhere.

BetMGM opened a fresh market for the 2025 college basketball national championship just minutes after UConn cut down the nets in April.

So for ambitious handicappers who like to establish early positions, hereโ€™s a look at this yearโ€™s NCAAB odds for the 2025 national championship, as well as a few notes and numbers to consider before betting.

March Madness Prediction 2025: Who Will Win the NCAA Basketball Championship This Year?

Based on the current futures market, the UConn Huskies and Kansas Jayhawks each have an implied 10% chance to win the national championship.ย

Alabama (+1000, 9.1%) is the next most likely to win March Madness, followed by Duke (+1100, 8.3%).

College Basketball National Championship Odds: Early Contenders to Know for 2025

Itโ€™s still early in the 2024-25 NCAA basketball cycle, but there have still been thousands of futures tickets purchased at the BetMGM online sportsbook since the end of March Madness.

As is often the case, early bettors are primarily targeting college basketball blue bloods to win the 2025 NCAA Tournament. As of Nov. 11, here are the ticket counts at BetMGM:

  • Duke (15.1% of all championship tickets)
  • Kansas (9.7%)
  • UConn (9.4%)
  • Gonzaga (5.7%)
  • Alabama (5.2%)
  • North Carolina (4.7%)
  • Kentucky (4.3%)
  • Houston (4.0%)
  • Indiana (2.6%)
  • Arizona (2.5%)
  • Arkansas (2.4%)
  • Auburn (2.3%)

Duke, UConn, Kansas, UNC, and Kentucky have won 11 of the 15 NCAA-recognized national championships since 2008. Thereโ€™s a good chance that one of them will lift the trophy at the end of March Madness again in 2025.

UConn is the two-time defending national champion and will be looking for a rare college basketball national championship three-peat in the spring.ย

However, Duke is the early leader in the ticket clubhouse because of Cooper Flagg, the widely celebrated No. 1 recruit that is playing in Cameron Indoor this season.

Alabama isnโ€™t a blue blood, but Nate Oatsโ€™ heavy emphasis on the 3-point shot has lifted the Crimson Tide into more than just a football powerhouse โ€“ as seen last year, when they made their first Final Four.

Houston is a similar team for the moment that has made four consecutive Sweet 16 appearances and spent considerable time atop the AP Poll in recent years.ย

Arkansas may seem like a strange target for some, but donโ€™t forget โ€“ John Calipariโ€™s coaching career took a big turn this offseason after he absconded from Lexington to Fayetteville. The Hogs are evidently building a powerful NIL system, which means Arkansas could be a staple in the NCAA basketball odds market for the next few seasons.ย
