Arrowhead Stadium has never hosted a Super Bowl.

Arrowhead Stadium Awarded the Super Bowl

In 2006, the city of Kansas City was given the rights to host Super Bowl XLIX — scheduled for February 2015 — if Arrowhead Stadium was a climate-controlled venue by that time.

Voters later rejected rejected a tax-increase bill that would’ve provided nearly $1 billion in funds to build a roof on the stadium. That led to a reversal in the award process, which led to Arizona’s successful bid to host Super Bowl XLIX.
