Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s Potential Extension
With his third NFL campaign nearly in the books, Edwards-Helaire will be eligible for a contract extension this offseason. It’s unlikely to materialize as the 23-year-old has underwhelmed during his Chiefs tenure, struggling with injuries and seeing his production decline each year.
To make matters worse, this season saw Edwards-Helaire fall to third on the depth chart, overtaken by seventh-round rookie Isiah Pacheco and veteran Jerick McKinnon. Don’t expect KC to pick up Edwards-Helaire’s fifth-year option.
