The Atlanta Falcons have appeared in two Super Bowls, both of which they lost.

Most recently, the Falcons lost in overtime to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI, 34-28. It remains the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history.

Super Bowl XXXIII vs. Denver Broncos

After the 1998 season, the Falcons advanced to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. They lost to the reigning Super Bowl champion Broncos, 34-19.

Super Bowl LI vs. New England Patriots

For Falcons fans, Super Bowl LI lives in infamy. Midway through the third quarter, the Falcons held a 28-3 lead.

Tom Brady’s Patriots battled back from the 25-point deficit, sending the game into overtime and eventually emerging victorious. It was the first Super Bowl ever to be decided in overtime and the largest comeback in Super Bowl history.
