The Denver Broncos have appeared in eight Super Bowls. Most recently, they defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, 24-10.

Have the Broncos Ever Won the Super Bowl?

The Broncos have won the Super Bowl three times: XII, XXXII, and 50. They’ve lost the game three times, tied with the New England Patriots for the most Super Bowl losses in NFL history.

Here’s their Super Bowl history:

Super Bowl XII vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Broncos made their first Super Bowl appearance after the 1977 season. They were defeated by the Cowboys, 27-10, at the Louisiana Superdome.

Super Bowl XXI vs. New York Giants

Denver returned to the NFL’s biggest stage in 1986.

Led by quarterback John Elway and a hardnosed defense, the Broncos held a narrow 10-9 lead at halftime. That lead didn’t stick for long, though. The Giants went on to score 26 unanswered points and secure the 39-20 victory.

Super Bowl XXII vs. Washington Commanders

Just one year after losing to the Giants, the Broncos were back in the Super Bowl.

They were dominated by Doug Williams’ Commanders, who scored 42 unanswered points and a record-breaking 35 points in the second quarter. The final score was 42-10.

Super Bowl XXIV vs. San Francisco 49ers

The Broncos finished the 1989 regular season 11-5. They fought their way through the playoffs and earned a spot in Super Bowl XXIV, hoping to face a different fate than years before.

However, they suffered the most lopsided loss in Super Bowl history, losing to the 49ers 55-10 and marking their third Super Bowl loss in four years.

Super Bowl XXXII vs. Green Bay Packers

Nearly ten years later, the Broncos were back to face the Packers and won, 31-24. It was their first Super Bowl title after suffering four losses and broke a 13-year losing streak for AFC teams in the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XXXIII vs. Atlanta Falcons

Just one season later, the Broncos won their second consecutive Super Bowl. They defeated the Falcons 34-19. 38-year-old John Elway became the oldest player to be named Super Bowl MVP until Tom Brady went on to earn the title at age 39, also against the Falcons.

Super Bowl XLVIII vs. Seattle Seahawks

The franchise made its seventh Super Bowl appearance after the 2013 season.

Despite entering the game as the heavy favorite, they received a drubbing at the hands of the underdog Seahawks, 43-8. Broncos quarterback, five-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning, threw two interceptions in the first half and led the Broncos to nearly 30 points below their scoring average.

Super Bowl 50 vs. Carolina Panthers

Two years later, the Broncos had a shot at redemption.

They appeared in their eighth Super Bowl, facing the Panthers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Despite their underdog status, the Broncos went on to win, 24-10. Von Miller won MVP with six tackles, two and a half sacks, and two forced fumbles.
