But so far, one of this year’s biggest offseason contract rifts is quietly happening with an unusual name. There are rumors that journeyman quarterback Jacoby Brissett is unhappy with his current deal in Arizona. Reports of his coming absence at team activities are leaking out to the media.
Brissett’s reluctance to play feels funny at first but actually makes sense in context. The 33-year-old veteran was handed a lot of leverage when Arizona decided to release Kyler Murray, as that left Brissett as the de facto man in charge of Arizona’s offense.
The front office may need to upgrade his meager contract in order to field a competent team in the brutally difficult NFC West. Otherwise, the Arizona Cardinals’ odds market could be doomed before summer practices ever get off the ground.Â

Jacoby Brissett signed a two-year contract worth $12.5 million. He’s set to be a free agent again after this season.
Brissett’s contract includes some incentives, including a $2 million bonus if he plays at least 65% of the Cardinals’ offensive snaps.Â

As of this writing, Jacoby Brissett could make $5.44 million from his NFL contract in 2026.
That includes a $4.88 million base salary, a $50,000 workout bonus, and a $30,000 per-game active roster bonus that could total $510,000.
