Drafted No. 31 in 2010 by the Indianapolis Colts, defensive end Jerry Hughes is entering his 14th NFL season.

Jerry Hughes Salary

Hughes then signed a two-year, $10,000,000 contract with the Houston Texans in 2022. It included a $2,500,000 signing bonus, $4,500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $5,000,000.

Jerry Hughes Cap Hit

Hughest carries a $6,250,000 cap hit in 2023.

Jerry Hughes Potential Extension

It’s unknown how long Hughes will continue playing and if his contract with the Texans will be his last. Still, Hughes has been productive and is coming off the third-highest sack total of his career (nine).

If Hughes plans to continue playing, and stays healthy, it’s hard to see there not being a market for him. It’s unlikely he’ll get another multi-year deal, but Hughes deserves another one-year contract worth around $6 million.
