Drafted No. 110 in 2019, San Francisco 49ers punter Mitch Wishnowsky has continued to be one of the game’s most consistent threats at the position.

The 49ers’ punter just finished his first contract and was signed to an extension. Out of Utah, Wishnowsky signed a four-year, $3,280,000 deal with the 49ers, including a $764,072 signing bonus.

In the 2022 offseason, Wishnowsky inked a four-year, $11,200,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $2,750,000 signing bonus, with $3,715,000 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $2,800,000.

The 31-year-old carried a $1,706,018 cap hit in 2022. With his new contract, Wishnowsky will have a $1,800,000 cap hit in 2023.

Before signing a four-year extension with the Niners, Wishnowsky was considered a strong punter for a quality team. His reliability earned him the term he received on his new deal, and he’s now being paid slightly below what some of the league’s high-end punters make.

Being on a team with one of the top offenses in the NFL limits the amount of usage that Wishnowsky had in 2022, but he still proved valuable to the team when called upon.
