The New York Jets defensive tackle is still on his first contract after being drafted in 2019. Out of Alabama, Williams signed a four-year, $32,529,371 deal with the Jets, including a $21,677,724 signing bonus, with $32,529,371  guaranteed and an average annual salary of $8,132,343.

Williams’s deal was fully guaranteed, and his fifth-year option was exercised heading into 2023.

The 25-year-old carried a $10,550,254 cap hit in 2022. His 2023 cap hit will be $9,594,000.

Williams is a big part of a Jets defense that’s on the rise, and he’s already made his intentions clear that he’s looking for a new contract ahead of voluntary workouts this offseason. Williams is making noise as one of the premier players at his position, and there are some strong comparables on defense that’ve gone on to continue being impactful players.
