- The Commanders’ 2026 win total is set at 7.5 wins at BetMGM.
- Washington fell out of the postseason after reaching the NFC Championship in 2024.
- I predict the Commanders finish over 7.5 wins due to offensive improvement.
For the 2026 NFL season, the Commanders win total sits at 7.5 wins at the BetMGM online sportsbook.Â
Washington endured a difficult 2025 season after reaching the NFC Championship. Injuries piled up after a 3-2 start with the Commanders finishing 5-12, good for third in the NFC East.Â
Year over year, oddsmakers adjusted Washington’s win total from 9.5 to 7.5. In Jayden Daniels’ breakout campaign, the Commanders easily cleared a 6.5 win total.Â
Here’s a look at the NFL odds for Washington’s 2026 win total and my Commanders win total prediction.Â
Commanders Win Total Odds
The Commanders’ season win total is set at 7.5 games.Â
Opening odds suggest Washington’s outcome against the total is priced as a coin flip. Over 7.5 wins is priced at -130, with under 7.5 wins also priced at +110.Â
Here are the 2026 NFL win totals for all NFC East teams:
- Philadelphia Eagles: 10.5 Wins
- Dallas Cowboys: 8.5 Wins
- Washington Commanders: 7.5 Wins
- New York Giants: 7.5 Wins
Commanders Win Total Prediction 2026
Based on Washington’s offensive ceiling and schedule breakdown off an injury-ravaged season, I predict the Commanders finish Over 7.5 Wins (-110).Â
In hindsight, ample evidence existed that the Commanders would regress. Tons of luck in close games? Check. Injury misfortune? Check. Seeing a radically more difficult schedule? Also check.Â
Year over year, Washington went from sixth in offensive DVOA to 23rd. Jayden Daniels missed 10 games, and the offense as a whole went from 22.1 adjusted games lost to 71.Â
The latter figure qualifies as the third-largest misfortune in the league. It came during a year when the NFL saddled Washington with the third-largest negative rest discrepancy (-13).Â
As a team, Washington lost more adjusted games to injury than two teams.Â
How did those injuries translate on the field? They underperformed expectations with a 2-5 record in one-possession games – down from 8-4 in 2024.Â
Within that sample, Washington lost a pair of overtime games to Miami and Denver. Turnovers led to a home loss against Chicago, while Dallas won 30-23 against Josh Johnson in Week 17.Â
That alone should be enough to question the sizable win total move annually. Is this team actually two wins worse than its preseason expectation last year? I’d argue no.Â
If there’s a slight concern with the Commanders, it’s that the defense faces a brutal schedule next year.Â
Based on 2025 offensive DVOA ratings, Washington projects to face the sixth-hardest defensive schedule.Â
Two factors help quell that concern. First, virtually every difficult game comes at home.Â
Next year, five of Washington’s eight games against teams projected to win at least 9.5 games are at home.Â
Additionally, the offensive ceiling remains high if Daniels stays healthy. That could influence Washington’s ability to compete in shootouts.Â
Even more encouraging for Washington is the spending power available to the team for free agency.Â
As of March 5, only four teams enter free agency with more cap space than the Commanders. Only three teams have more effective cap space.Â
The defense remains a sizable question mark, so I expect spending will focus on that unit.Â
But Washington could also bring in receiver help to complement Terry McLaurin. That, along with an above-average offensive line, should see a big boost to Washington’s profile.Â
Ultimately, a strong offense renders any team alive in any game. Given the chance to buy low, I predict Washington clears this benchmark more often than not.
Most Wins in Commanders History
The Commanders’ franchise record for most regular season wins is 14. They accomplished this twice (1983 and 1991).
Both seasons resulted in trips to the Super Bowl, and the 1991 season ended with a Super Bowl title.
Fewest Wins in Commanders History
The Commanders’ franchise record for the fewest wins in a single season is one, which has happened twice. It was in back-to-back seasons in 1960 and 1961.
