On January 12, 1969, the New York Jets beat the Indianapolis Colts, 16-7, in a legendary Super Bowl III performance. To this day, it remains the biggest upset in Super Bowl history.

Super Bowl NFL odds at the time pegged the Jets as 18-point underdogs.

The NFC had dominated the early merger period, so many NFL fans weren’t willing to give the AFC much of a chance when the Jets and Colts met for Super Bowl III.

Joe Namath famously predicted a massive upset win for the Jets, and Broadway Joe delivered in a big way.

As of Wednesday, Feb. 8, the Eagles are a 1.5-point underdog in updated Super Bowl LVII odds.
