  • The โ€œGreen Mileโ€ is used to describe Holes 16-18 at Quail Hollow.
  • All three holes carry a bogey average of over 21% on tour.
  • The Par-4 16th is the second-longest Par 4 on the entire course.

Quail Hollowโ€™s Green Mile is a moniker attributed to the three closing holes on the golf course.ย

Arguably the toughest closing trio of any PGA Tour setup, the three holes measure 1,223 yards, or just under 0.7 miles.ย

The trek begins at the Par-4 16th, which measures 504 yards. Then, players head to the 223-yard Par-3 17th before heading to the 494-yard Par-4 18th.ย

All three holes count amongst the most difficult holes on the golf course. Based on course handicapping, the stretch sees golfers play the third-, fifth- and most-difficult holes.ย

According to fantasynational.com, all three holes carry a bogey percentage north of 21%, with the 16th and 18th carrying bogey rates of 28.3% and 29.4%, respectively.ย

Moreover, all three holes carry a double bogey or worse rate north of 6%. At the 18th, players make double bogey or worse at an 8% clip.ย

Beyond the sheer length of the holes, another challenging factor is the presence of a water hazard on each hole that surrounds the green complex.ย

Based on that level of difficulty and historical data, dramatic swings could occur late at the 2025 PGA Championship.
