The Reds’ form has dipped since claiming the title. Liverpool dropped points in three straight games, with Arne Slot’s side conceding at least twice in every game.
Crystal Palace claimed an FA Cup win to secure a Europa League spot next season. In terms of the league, Palace find themselves on the beach in 12th place.

Based on the lack of motivation for both teams and Liverpool’s defensive lapses recently, my Liverpool vs Crystal Palace prediction is Over 3.5 Goals (+100).
Defense has proved optional for Liverpool since winning the title. They’ve conceded two or more goals in three straight matches, with the underlying metrics backing up those efforts.
Against Arsenal, Brighton and Chelsea, Liverpool surrendered eight goals off 7.9 expected goals and 9.1 post-shot xGA, per fbref.com.
The good news for Slot’s team is the attack hasn’t taken its foot off the gas one bit. Liverpool cleared two expected goals in two straight matches, including a 2.4 xG effort vs Arsenal.
Incredibly, only twice this season has Liverpool failed to score two or more goals at home in the league.
Regarding Crystal Palace, it’s a prime sell-high spot on a defense that has kept four straight opponents to one or fewer goals.
However, Sunday’s match marks the sixth for Palace against a team sixth or better in home expected goals. In the previous five, they surrendered 2.86 post-shot xG per 90.
That said, even if Liverpool’s defense wasn’t in shambles, I retain faith in the Crystal Palace attack.
Oliver Glasner’s side created two expected goals in two straight league matches. In recent trips to Manchester City and Newcastle, Palace created at least 1.8 xG in both.
As a result, goals should flow on Sunday at Anfield with chances for both teams.
