Wolves vs Tottenham Prediction & Odds

  • Wolves is predicted to be a -0.5-goal home favorite against Tottenham.
  • The dog has won three of the last four matches between Wolves and Tottenham.
  • My Wolves vs. Tottenham prediction is the total over 2.5 goals.

On the heels of a midweek Europa League fixture, Tottenham travel to the Midlands for a meeting with Wolves.ย

Spurs eased their way to a 3-1 win over Southampton on Matchday 31. The win ended a four-match winless run for Tottenham, which sits 13th in the table.ย

Wolves came from behind to beat Ipswich Town 2-1, securing a 12-point advantage over the final relegation spot. Earlier this season, Wolves drew against Tottenham, 2-2.ย

Tottenham vs Wolves: Prediction

Based on the short rest spot for Tottenham and Wolves returning Matheus Cunha, my Tottenham vs. Wolves prediction is the Total Over 2.5 Goals (-160).ย

Each of the last three meetings between these sides finished over 2.5 goals, including a 2-2 thriller at Tottenham earlier this season.

While that match featured backup central defenders for Tottenham, a full-strength unit shouldnโ€™t be expected on Sunday.ย

Tottenham host Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, a far more important match for their season. With the quick turnaround, itโ€™s reasonable to expect rotation from Ange Postecoglou.ย

That likely opens the door for Wolves to create offensively, especially with talisman Matheus Cunha returning from a four-match ban.ย

Earlier this season, Wolves generated 1.86 post-shot xG against Tottenham. That marks three in a row where Wolves surpassed 1.7 post-shot xG against Sundayโ€™s opposition.ย

That said, I place little trust in the Wolves defense. Only four sides โ€“ including Tottenham โ€“ own a worse post-shot xGA record than Wolves, per fbref.com.ย

Sundayโ€™s fixture also represents a strong sell-high spot on Wolvesโ€™ defense. Over their last four matches, theyโ€™ve faced nothing but teams outside the bottom five in post-shot xGF.ย

For all of Tottenhamโ€™s issues this season, itโ€™s worth acknowledging theyโ€™re sixth in post-shot xG.ย

History also likes this match to clear 2.5 goals.ย

Since 2012, matches featuring this total are 100-55 to the over, assuming two factors:

  • The road teamโ€™s average number of goals scored falls between 1.5 and 1.9
  • The road teamโ€™s average number of goals allowed falls between 1.4 and 1.8

When those road teams posted a previous game margin between 0 and +3: 70-30 to the over.ย

As a result, I like a high-scoring contest on Sunday at Molineux.ย
