The competition in the UFC is constantly elevating, from pure strikers diverging themselves to grappling and grapplers developing their stand-up game, which is why it is hard to put up an almost perfect performance in a fight.ย

It also makes UFC odds and MMA odds challenging to navigate. But we have witnessed some solid performances in recent years, which left us amazed and speechless.ย

We have a list of the top five perfect performances of all time, perhaps giving some UFC betting more context.

Conor McGregor – UFC 205

This win by McGregor in 2016 was the official rise of the โ€˜โ€™champ-champโ€™โ€™ status that almost every champion wanted to have. The โ€˜โ€™Notoriousโ€™โ€™ successfully dismantled the lightweight champion inside the Madison Square Garden. With his impressive power and precision, McGregor did this in just under two rounds.

The Irish landed 38% of his significant strikes to Eddie Alvarez for a total of 43% throughout the fight. He also dodged a lot of strikes by making Alvarez land only 12 out of the 46 (26%). Additionally, he stopped three of Alvarezโ€™s takedown attempts on his way to becoming UFC’s first two-weight champion.

Max Holloway – UFC on ABC

Coming off his back-to-back championship loss to Alexander Volkanovski, many thought Hollowayโ€™s prime was past him and he may not regain his old form when he reigned as the UFC Featherweight Champion. But when he fought Calvin Kattar in January 2021, he proved that he is still getting better.

Holloway broke multiple UFC records in one fight, including the most significant strikes landed (445), most significant strikes attempted (744), the most number of total strikes attempted (746) and most number of total strikes landed (447). He tripled the strikes that his opponent landed throughout the fight, with Kattar only landing 134 strikes inside five rounds.

Israel Adesanya – UFC 253

When you have two undefeated fighters meet for a championship bout, you expect an all-out war. This is precisely the anticipation UFC fans had when Adesanya was booked to defend his title against Paulo Costa in September 2020. Turns out, fans were treated to a masterful performance from the champion.

Right from the opening bell, Adesanya proved that he is the more sophisticated and technical fighter between him and Costa by picking his shots, thus landing efficiently. The โ€˜โ€™Last Stylebenderโ€™โ€™ converted 65% of his total strikes (55 of 84) while making Costa land 46% or 12 of his 26 strikes.

Khamzat Chimaev – All UFC Fights

Chimaev is one of the hottest prospects right now in the UFC due to his flawless performances in all of his four fights under the company. The undefeated Swedish athlete landed 112 strikes against John Philips, Rhys McKee, Gerald Meerschaert and Li Jiangliang while only sustaining one.

Chimaev has done this across two divisions (middleweight and welterweight), making him a must-see fighter in the years to come. He is living up to his motto of โ€˜โ€™Smashingโ€™โ€™ everyone and completely shutting them down during fights, a scary sight for all 185-pound and 170-pound fighters.

Demetrious Johnson – UFC on FOX 24

One of the greatest UFC fighters of all time, Johnson had his fair share of iconic and almost perfect performances in the UFC when he fought Wilson Reis in April 2017. His high fight IQ and relentless pressure make him a dangerous opponent regardless of whether you stand and trade strikes with him or grapple with him.

But in this specific win over Reis, Johnson landed an impressive 62% of his total strikes (135 of 216) while making Reis miss significantly with only 10% of his shots landed on the โ€˜โ€™Mighty Mouse.” DJ also managed to take him down once in his two attempts and eventually submitted him in the third round to retain his flyweight title.
