Heading into the match as the UFC odds underdog, Topuria silenced the doubters by landing a powerful punch right to Volkanovksi’s jaw to drop him down the canvas instantly and put the former champion out cold. Because of this incredible performance, he received an additional $50,000 bonus.
Besides Topuria, other fighters on the card who bagged the performance bonus were Amanda Lemos, Mackenzie Dern, Zhang Minyang, and Anthony Hernandez. Lemos and Dern were hailed as the Fight of the Night, while Zhang and Hernandez scored stoppage victories against their opponents.
