Action is a basic term in online sports betting. Its definition is fundamental to the basics of betting.

The use of Action is so common that it’s referenced in the names of organizations like The Action Network.

What Does Action Mean in Sports Betting?

Action is a more formal term for any kind of wager. A bettor who has action on a particular game has at least one bet tied to that game.

Action is often referenced in online sportsbook rules, where certain events or occurrences may create no action.

For example, if a college football game is canceled or ended early because of inclement weather or some other impediment, wagers may be considered no action, or forfeited. Bettors typically receive a refund for no-action scenarios.
