Our research found that Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky is currently the WNBA star with the largest Instagram following (4,921,656 total). Reese is followed by the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark (3,154,213), with the rest of the top five including the Dallas Wings’ Paige Bueckers (2,519,112), New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu (1,449,042), and Chicago Sky’s Hailey Van Lith (1,365,746).
Additionally, our research reveals which state has produced the most WNBA players set to compete in the 2025 season.
According to the data, California leads the way with 18 players on active rosters. Texas, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania also rank among the top five talent-producing states.

Methodology:
BetMGM analyzed over 400 pieces of data from WNBA, HerHoopStats, ESPN, and Social Blade, including player bios and Instagram followers. Focusing on the roster of every team set to compete in the 2025 WNBA season to determine which players have the largest Instagram following.
First, we analyzed the current 2025 WNBA rosters. Next, we extracted each player’s name and state of birth using Herhoopstats.com, ESPN.com, and WNBA.com.
Afterwards, we analyzed the Instagram following of every player on each team’s roster using Socialblade.com, identifying which players have the largest following.
Finally, we collated the data to establish which players have the largest Instagram profiles, which current roster in the WNBA has the largest combined following, and how many current WNBA players come from each state.
