  • Angel Reese is the betting favorite to lead the league in rebounding in 2025.
  • Reese averaged 13.1 rebounds per game as a rookie.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese established herself as the best rebounder in the WNBA during her rookie season.

Reese led the W with an average of 13.1 boards per contest, including a league-best 5.1 offensive rebounds per game. She enters her second season as the WNBA odds favorite (-400) to lead the league in rebounding average in 2025.

Reese begins as the betting favorite to lead the WNBA in rebounds per game for the second straight season. Her -400 odds give her an implied probability of 80%.

Las Vegas Aces forward Aโ€™ja Wilson appears to be Reeseโ€™s primary challenger in this market after averaging 11.9 rebounds per game in 2024. No other player averaged double-digit rebounds last year, which helps explain why nobody else is better than 30/1 in this market.

While Reese is the deserving favorite in this market, Iโ€™d argue that fading her is the better value play.

For one, Reese should have better efficiency as a shooter. She collected plenty of her misses after shooting 39.1% on 12.3 field goal attempts per game as a rookie. For comparison. Wilson shot 51.8% from the floor on 19.6 attempts per contest.

In addition, Chicagoโ€™s Kamilla Cardosa, who was drafted ahead of Reese last spring, should be healthier this season. Cardosa averaged 7.9 rebounds as a rookie in 27.4 minutes per contest.

Given those factors in a new system under head coach Tyler Marsh, Reese could regress closer to the rest of the leagueโ€™s elite rebounders and open this race up.

From a betting perspective, I like the value on Wilson in this market after finishing second in rebounds per game for three straight seasons. But the better angle might be to take the under on Reeseโ€™s season-long rebound prop of 13.5 boards per outing.

Prediction: Aโ€™ja Wilson (+450)
