  • The 2025 Hamburg Open will be the final tune-up for Roland Garros.
  • The total 2025 prize purse in Hamburg is a little more than $2.4 million.

The Hamburg Open was the encore for Wimbledon in 2024, playing its modest 32-player draw in July on the heels of Carlos Alcarazโ€™s triumph over the aging Novak Djokovic. Tour players who elected to compete in Hamburg made the switch from grass back to dirt.ย

This year, Hamburgโ€™s clay appears a little earlier in the calendar, occupying the one-week gap between the end of the Italian Open and the beginning of the clay season finale at Roland Garros.ย

Itโ€™s only a 500-point event, which could feel a little low-stakes after the mad rush of 96-player draws spread throughout April and May.ย

But with Hamburg serving as a final tune-up ahead of the French Open, this will be an important event for tennis handicappers and fans to watch, regardless of the official label. The draw has plenty of big names, including Jannik Sinner, Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, Tommy Paul, and more.
