- The BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) runs from March 8-19.
- Indian Wells is the first of nine annual ATP Masters 1000 tournaments.
- Indian Wells 2023 includes more than $17 million in total prize money.
The BNP Paribas Open, more commonly known as Indian Wells, is one of the biggest tournaments of the season. It’s sometimes referred to as the fifth grand slam of professional tennis.
Accordingly, the tournament features a huge draw of players (and associated tennis odds), as well as an even bigger purse for prize money.
At Indian Wells, men and women receive equal payouts. That means, for example, that a quarterfinalist in the men’s tournament receives the exact same cash prize as a quarterfinalist in the women’s tournament.
For 2023, Indian Wells has a total purse for both tours, across singles and doubles tournaments, is $17,600,000.
How Much Does the Winner of Indian Wells Make?
The winners of the men’s and women’s 2023 singles tournaments at Indian Wells will each receive a cash prize of $1,262,220.
