Live sports betting has exploded in popularity as sports fans inject more excitement into online sports betting, including golf betting.

At BetMGM, you can view live odds for every PGA Tour tournament.

From the Valero Texas Open or Barracuda Championship to The Masters and U.S. Open, updated live PGA Tour odds allow you to hedge against a futures bet on Scottie Scheffler, increase your pre-tournament investment on Rory McIlroy, or take a new position on Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, or any other golfer.

What’s Live Golf Betting?

When an event begins, pregame (or pre-match, pre-tournament, etc.) betting closes, odds are locked and live betting opens. And live betting doesn’t close until the final minutes of the event.

For example, perhaps Collin Morikawa and Jordan Spieth are tied for the lead in the PGA Championship. At -9, they’re two shots ahead of Scheffler and Russell Henley, and four shots ahead of five golfers tied at -5.

At this moment, as Morikawa and Spieth approached the 11th tee, tournament winner odds might be:

  • Morikawa: +275
  • Spieth: +300
  • Scheffler: +500
  • Henley: +650

Regardless if placed pre-tournament wagers on Morikawa or any other golfer, you had access to live betting.

From tournament winner and third-round leader to lowest score on the next hole (between two golfers) and player or hole specials, live golf betting is available for dozens of tournaments each year.

How to Live Bet on Golf

With BetMGM’s easy-to-use live betting page, it’s never been easier to place live bets on golf.

While watching the PGA Championship or tracking scores online, you could’ve also been browsing live odds and waiting for a favorable number to post. And maybe your favorable number was posted after Spieth’s birdie on the 10th hole.

After passing on pre-tournament betting, you placed a $100 live bet on Spieth to win at +300. And two hours later, Spieth (-10) held off Morikawa (-9) to win.

The bet returned $400 (including stake).

Live Betting Parlays

Live golf betting isn’t limited to single or straight bets. You can also combine bets into a multi-leg parlay with bigger payout potential.

While Spieth and Morikawa were playing the 11th hole on Sunday, the pair, and several other players, had odds for individual holes. For example, the odds for Morikawa 12th-hole score might be:

  • Birdie or better: +500
  • Par: -175
  • Bogey or worse: +200

And odds for Scheffler’s 13th-hole score might be:

  • Birdie or better: +350
  • Par: -140
  • Bogey or worse: +175

A $50 parlay bet on a Morikawa par (-175) and a Scheffler par (-140) would return $134.69 (including stake) if both legs hit.

If you’re new to sports betting, read our parlay guide: “What is a Parlay?

If both legs hit, your ticket will cash immediately. With live betting, you don’t need to wait hours or days for the completion of a tournament, match, or game. The immediate returns allow you to place several live bets throughout one event.
