Oakland has some new starting pitching options after bringing in Wood and Stripling.
Wood spent three seasons with the Giants, making 68 starts and tossing a 4.41 ERA across 367 total innings. Stripling also spent last year in San Francisco, going 0-5 with a 5.36 ERA in 22 appearances.
The Athletics hope the additions to their staff will help a group that ranked 29th in team ERA (5.68) last year.
