Here’s a look at the latest MLB betting odds and my prediction for the Red Sox ahead of the 2025 season:

The Red Sox’s MLB odds have climbed this offseason, indicating that the market believes they will be in the mix. Boston is +2500 to win the World Series after opening with a +4000 value. The Red Sox were 60/1 long shots the last two seasons.

Red Sox Depth Chart 2025

According to RosterResource, the Red Sox’s depth chart has some notable improvements in 2025.

The Red Sox traded for Garrett Crochet to be their ace, while Walker Buehler was added for rotation depth. Boston also signed Aroldis Chapman to boost its bullpen.

At the start of spring training, Boston signed Alex Bregman to a three-year, $120 million deal. All of these additions should help the Red Sox compete in the AL East.

Red Sox Player to Watch in 2025

Left-hander Garrett Crochet, 25, is now Boston’s ace for the foreseeable future after being traded from the Chicago White Sox.

Crochet finally got his crack to be a starter last season, posting a 3.58 ERA with 209 strikeouts across 146 innings in 32 starts. With a season under his belt, he could take another step, especially with pitching coach Andrew Bailey helping him.

Crochet is the No. 2 favorite in the AL Cy Young market, trading at a +600 value behind last year’s winner, Tarik Skubal. Crochet is also +600 to lead the league in strikeouts, trailing only Paul Skenes in that market.

Red Sox Betting Prediction for 2025

Based on the updated MLB betting market, I predict Alex Cora will win AL Manager of the Year (+750) during the 2025 season.

I have been high on the Red Sox since they opened as a +4000 World Series odds long shot on the first day of the offseason. Their value in that market is now +2500 after making several notable additions to the roster.

I won’t stop you from taking Boston’s current value because this team has championship upside in a wide-open American League, but I prefer Cora’s odds to win AL Manager of the Year at this time.

Since 2012, all 26 Manager of the Year winners have been on teams that made the playoffs. Of those 26, 22 were on teams that didn’t make the postseason the prior year.

Boston was in the wild-card hunt last September, but this team hasn’t made the postseason since 2021. The Red Sox are -125 to make the playoffs this spring, which is better than any other team that also missed the postseason last year:
