Despite not making the postseason since 2016, the New York Mets find themselves in the race for the 2024 MLB playoff picture.

Mets Playoff Chances

The Mets playoff odds are +120, which implies a 45.45% chance of making the postseason.

Here is how their playoff odds stack up in the NL East:

  • Phillies: Off the board
  • Braves: Off the board
  • Mets: +120
  • Nationals: +850
  • Marlins: +3000

Mets Playoff Seed

If the postseason began today, the Mets wouldn’t make the six-team NL bracket. They’re one game behind the San Diego Padres for the final NL Wild Card spot.

If they catch the Padres for the 6-seed, they’d face the Milwaukee Brewers in a best-of-three Wild Card Series.

Here’s the current NL bracket:

Last Time the Mets Made the Playoffs

The Mets haven’t made the postseason since 2016, when they lost to the San Francisco Giants in the NL Wild Card game.

In 2015, New York made it to the World Series before losing in five games to the Kansas City Royals.
