The Detroit Tigers haven’t reached the postseason since 2014, but they’re currently in contention for the 2024 MLB playoff picture.

Tigers Playoff Chances

The Tigers playoff odds are +110, which implies a 47.62% chance of making the postseason.

Here is how their playoff odds compare to the rest of the AL Central:

  • Guardians:ย Off the board
  • Royals:ย -1000
  • Twins:ย -185
  • Tigers:ย +110
  • White Sox:ย Off the board

Tigers Playoff Seed

After posting the best record in baseball since Aug. 11, the Tigers are currently tied with the Minnesota Twins for the final Wild-Card spot. They don’t have the tiebreaker over the Twins or Kansas City Royals, so they will need to finish with more wins down the stretch.

As the 6-seed, they’d travel to the Houston Astros in a best-of-three Wild Card Series.

Here’s the current AL bracket:

Last Time the Tigers Made the Playoffs

The Tigers haven’t made the postseason since 2014, losing in the ALDS after a 90-72 campaign.

Detroit’s last World Series victory was in 1984, though it did win the AL pennant in 2006 and 2012.
