Before Terry Francona, Manny Acta was the manager of the Cleveland Guardians, then called the Cleveland Indians.

Acta joined the Indians as manager on Oct. 25, 2009. He was fired on Sept. 27, 2012 with only six games remaining in the 2012 regular season, and bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. was named interim manager until Francona was hired on Oct. 6, 2012.

Acta left Cleveland with a managerial record of 214-266.

When Was Terry Francona the Red Sox Manager?

Francona was the manager of the Boston Red Sox from 2004 to 2011. He led the team to two World Series championships (2004 and 2007).

Following the 2011 season, the Red Sox declined to exercise Francona’s 2012 option, and he ended his Boston tenure with a managerial record of 744โ€“552 in the regular season andย 28โ€“17 in the postseason.
